CHONTAS TRAIL
Within the Chontas Birdwatching Spot area we have a path called "Sendero Chontas", it has a distance of approximately 2.5 kilometers, covering a height from 2000 masl to 2200 masl.
During the hike you can observe and listen to different types of species of birds such as: Black-billed Mountain-Toucan, Southern Emerald-Toucanet, White-bellied Antpitta, Masked Trogon, Golden-headed Quetzal, Dusky Piha, Wattled Guan, Andean Guan, Sickle-winged Guan, and different species of tanagers.
The trail is of medium difficulty and is in good condition, but it is necessary to wear rubber boots and always bring a raincoat.
Along the trail we can also find different animal species that exist in the area. We have also installed trap cameras to record the fauna of our reserve.
