Surrounded by Cloud Forest on the East Slope (or Amazon-side) of Ecuador at 2000 meters above sea level, Chontas Birdwatching Spot is located in the Chontas Sector, Cosanga, Quijos, Napo, about 2h30 minutes drive from Quito. On 30 hectares of Cloud Forest, is the perfect place to birdwatch, take amazing pictures and go on a leisurely hikes.

TAWNY-BELLIED HERMIT

With more than 1,650 species of birds, Ecuador is the fourth country with the most bird species in the world. The place is strategically located in one of the best bird watching areas in the country as it is surrounded by two natural areas; Antisana Ecological Reserve and Sumaco Napo Galeras National Park.
